Timothy Bade

After receiving his Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University, Tim worked at Richard Gluckman Architects on the Andy Warhol Foundation and the renovation of the Dia Art Foundation. Tim joined Steven Holl Architects in 1994 and was named Partner in 2006. At SHA, Tim was responsible for internationally acclaimed buildings such as the Chapel of St. Ignatius at Seattle University, Simmons Hall Undergraduate Residence at MIT, NYU School of Philosophy, and Higgins Hall at Pratt Institute School of Architecture. Since co-founding BSC Tim has worked successfully with a wide variety of client groups to execute exceptional designs. He has taught in the graduate architecture program at Parsons School of Design and Cornell University, and has served as a guest juror at Columbia University, Pratt Institute and Parsons School of Design. 

 

Jane Stageberg, AIA, LEED AP

Jane holds a Masters Degree in Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Masters Degree in Music from Boston University. Prior to establishing Bade Stageberg Cox in 2006, Jane worked at such notable firms as David Brody Bond, Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects and Gluckman Mayner Architects. With her partners, Jane has developed BSC into an award-winning practice committed to design excellence, and has been lead architect for a wide range of projects including new construction, renovations and adaptive reuse. She is a member of the New York AIA Chapter, and serves on the programming committee of ArtTable, a professional association of women in arts management. Having led the renovation of the National Academy Museum + School, Jane joined the Academy’s Board of Directors in 2019.

Jane has taught in the graduate architecture programs at Parsons School of Design and Cornell University, and has served as guest juror at Columbia University, CUNY’s Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture, Pratt Institute, New York Institute of Technology, Syracuse University, Yale University, and University of Texas at Austin.

 

Martin Cox, AIA

Martin received his professional degree in Architecture from University College Dublin, Ireland. He trained in Germany and Ireland before joining Steven Holl Architects in New York, where he was a Senior Associate from 1996 until 2006, when he co-founded BSC with Jane Stageberg and Tim Bade, going on to lead some of the firm’s most significant cultural and residential projects. At SHA, Martin was project architect for a large number of award-winning buildings including the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Bellevue Art Museum and the University of Iowa School of Art and Art History. Martin served with Steven Holl as Martell Distinguished Visiting Critic at University of Buffalo. He has taught graduate design studio at Yale University School of Architecture and graduate studios at Cornell University. Martin has served on the Board of Directors of Artists Space since 2008.

KARL LANDSTEINER, RA, LEED GA

Karl joined Bade Stageberg Cox in 2016 and became an Associate of the firm in 2017. He holds a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami. Karl is a Registered Architect in the State of New York and a LEED Green Associate. He previously worked at WORKac, on notable projects such as The Stealth Building (2017 AIA NY Merit Award) and Kew Gardens Hills Library (2018 AIA NY Merit Award). Karl is currently working on an extensive renovation and addition to a 200-year-old townhouse in Greenwich village as well as the renovation of the Queens Public Library, Woodhaven branch.

SAUMON OBOUDIYAT

Saumon Joined Bade Stageberg Cox in 2017. He holds a Master of Architect Degree from the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Architecture from Temple University. Prior to joining BSC Saumon worked at DIGSAU Architecture in Philadelphia. At BSC, Saumon has served as project designer for the Woodhaven Library and as assistant project manager for the renovation of Artists Space and Row New York Sherman Creek Boathouse (in collaboration with Foster + Partners). Saumon’s graduate studio design team’s Multi-Family Housing proposal was included in the Visionary Detroit Housing Exhibition.

NICK STESHYN

Nick Steshyn holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and B.Arch from the University of Florida. At BSC Nick is currently Project Architect for major residential projects in Mount Hope and Watermill. Before joining BSC his experience included MiroRivera Architects and Tod Williams & Billie Tsien Architects where he worked on the David Geffen Hall renovation at Lincoln Center among other projects. Nick has taught at UT Austin.

 
 
 

LIANA X. LI

Liana joined Bade Stageberg Cox in 2021. Born and raised in a small village on the southeast coast of China, Liana completed her undergraduate study in architecture in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. Following her curiosity and passion for architecture, Liana joined the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin in 2015 to pursue her master’s degree, which she earned in 2018. Prior to joining BSC, Liana worked at Leroy Street Studio and JG Neukomm Architecture in NYC, where she focused on creating living and recreation spaces for city renters and homeowners. At BSC, Liana is currently working on multiple extensive renovation projects.

TED BAZIL, RA, LEED AP

Ted joined Bade Stageberg Cox in 2021. He holds a Master of Architecture degree with a Certificate in Urban Design from The University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture with a Minor in Music from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to joining BSC, Ted worked for Brooks+Scarpa in Los Angeles and Atrium Design Group in Philadelphia on a range of project types including single and multifamily residential, commercial mixed-use, and cultural, educational, and historic facilities. At BSC, Ted has worked on multiple projects including the Row New York Sherman Creek Boathouse (in collaboration with Foster + Partners).
