MEDUSA LIGHT
Designed to be installed above a bathroom mirror, the Medusa light fixture references the myth of Medusa and Perseus’ use of his mirrored shield to avoid gazing upon her.
Influenced by an appreciation of traditional porcelain sockets, we designed a multi-headed version of a simple lampholder with multiple light sources that erase cast shadows.
The fixture is 3D printed in ceramic in a 3-day process. After the fixture is printed it’s fully dried, placed in a depowdering chamber to remove excess powder, and then fired with a traditional porcelain glaze.
