LONDON TERRACE RESIDENCE
New York, NY
The design of this apartment for an art collector and gallerist was informed by the client’s collection of work including by artist Donald Judd. Two built-in custom structures provide L-shaped articulations of the space within the 1,400 SF one-bedroom apartment, while maintaining the sense of an open plan.
The client’s predilection for the color green figures prominently in the finishes. Mult-iply phenolic-faced green plywood extends the reductive palette through all millwork and room dividers.
To dissuade guests from entering the kitchen, a fold-down panel at the kitchen island nestles discreetly into an adjacent wall recess.
